CHARLOTTESVILLESeniors Kelsie Chaudoin (Germantown, Tenn./Houston) and Mary Eddy (Arlington, Va./Washington Lee) have been named captains of the 2007-08 Virginia women’s rowing team. Chaudoin and Eddy, who both entered the Virginia program as walk-ons, were elected by their teammates this week.

Chaudoin was a member of the second varsity eight crew last season that finished fourth in that event at the 2007 NCAA Women’s Rowing Championships and finished first at the South/Central Regional Championships. She was a member of the varsity eight boat that finished first at the 2007 Atlantic Coast Conference Championships and was named the ACC Crew of the Year. She has been a member of the ACC Academic Honor Roll each of the last three years.

Eddy was the coxswain of the varsity four boat that won the national championship at the 2007 NCAA Women’s Rowing Championships. She was also the coxswain of the varsity four crew when it finished first at the South/Central Regional Championships and at the ACC Championships. She was honored as a 2007 Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association National Scholar-Athlete and has been a member of the ACC Academic Honor Roll each of the last three years.
