CHARLOTTESVILLE — The Virginia women’s soccer team opens play in the 2007 NCAA Tournament Friday as it hosts Loyola (Md.) in a first-round match at Klckner Stadium. Game time is 5 p.m. and is the first game of a NCAA doubleheader with William & Mary and Georgetown to follow at 7:30 p.m.

Virginia is 11-3-6 this season, including a 5-2-3 mark in the ACC. Last week, the Cavaliers reached the semifinals of the ACC Tournament, before falling in penalty kicks to eventual champion North Carolina. Loyola is making its sixth NCAA Tournament appearance in the last eight years. The Greyhounds (10-5-5) won the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference title last weekend with a 2-0 win over Marist in the final.

Tickets are $9 for reserved seats, $7 for adult general admission, and $5 for youth/student general admission. Fans can order tickets for the tournament online on the UVa Athletics Tickets Web site and by phone through the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office at 800-542-UVA1 (8821) or 434-924-UVA1 (8821). Tickets are also available at the gate beginning one hour prior to the start of play.

Game-day parking is $5 per day. Parking is available at University Hall and the Emmet/Ivy Garage.

The winners of Friday’s games will meet in the second round, a game scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at Klckner Stadium.
