Charlottesville, VA Virginia freshman women’s golfer Joy Kim has been named the College Player of the Week by Golf World Magazine. Kim finished seventh at the NCAA East Regional Championship last week at the University of Georgia. Her performance helped UVa to a fifth-place team finish and a berth to the NCAA Championships.

Kim had rounds of 73, 77 and 68 for a three-day total of 2-over 218. Her 68 was the lowest score during the final round of play, her best single-round as a collegiate and UVa’s best 18-hole total this year. Her tournament score was also a personal best.

Kim and the Cavaliers travel to the New Mexico for the NCAA Championships May 20-23.
