BEIJING, China The swimming competition at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China, completed over the weekend. Former Cavalier Vanja Rogujl (Croatia) and incoming first-year athlete Erika Stewart (Colombia) both participated in the Games.

Rogujl, who swam at UVa from 2004-07, made his third appearance in the Olympic Games. He finished 42nd overall in the 100 breaststroke, clocking a time of 1:02.42.

Rogulj was also a part of Croatia’s 400 medley relay team which finished eighth in its heat and 12th overall. The squad finished with a mark of 3:37.69. Rogulj swam the second leg, the breast, and completed the race with a split of 1:56.21.

Stewart competed in the 200 individual medley and placed 32nd overall with a time of 2:18.54. She set a lifetime best by over a second.
