What does it feel like coming toward the end of your college career, being a senior, both as a football player and student-athlete?
Field:
I have loved the experience and been grateful for it. I try to take advantage of every day that I am blessed with here, both with football and school. I am just really happy with my situation and that I decided to come to UVa.

What are your plans for after graduation?
Field:
I’m not sure. Right now I am concentrating on being the best football player that I can be and getting my degree. I guess I’ll have to cross that bridge when I get there.

Looking back at your time spent here, what are you going to miss the most?
Field:
I’m going to miss all of my friends, being around everybody and just the college lifestyle. I talked to some of my friends after they graduated and they said pretty much of the same they miss college a lot. I think I am really going to miss being around the college atmosphere.

Is there anything that you wish you could have done differently while at UVa?
Field:
I try and take full advantage of everything presented to me, so I don’t have any regrets. I don’t know if I would have done anything differently.

What is your favorite football memory?
Field:
Going down to Miami and beating them in the last game at the Orange Bowl because everybody thought that we were going to lose that game. After beating them and then coming back, I got to hang out with my football friends and we didn’t go to sleep all night.

What is the most tiring thing about being on the football team that most people would not realize or do not know?
Field:
There is a daily grind. Everyday there are meetings, practice, lifting. Sometimes it can wear you down. I guess the fact that you wake up early and lift for two hours, then go to class all day and then watch film for two hours and go to practice for another two hours can kind of wear you down, but it’s all worth it.

What expectations do you have for yourself and for the team for the remainder of this season?
Field:
I am trying to get better every game. As the season progresses, I am just trying to keep raising my level of play and I think most of the players on the team have that same goal. If we progress individually, then together as a team we will get better.

What’s the most exciting or intense atmosphere you have played in?
Field:
The first game I played in was the “Lights Out” game against Florida State, which was my freshman year. That game was really, really tense. It was such a big game and it was the first time I stepped on college grass. That was definitely the most intense, especially with the fans rushing the field afterwards.

Who are some of the toughest opponents you have faced while in college?
Field:
Practicing everyday my freshman year against D’Brickashaw Ferguson was pretty rough. Also, USC this year was a very tough team. Their whole offensive line was really good and in sync.

What do you like to do when you’re not playing football?
Field:
In the off-season we are mostly working out but I like to play tennis and racquetball every once in a while and some video games here and there. I like to get together with some friends and just chill and hang out.

Who has been the biggest influence on you at UVa?
Field:
Playing with Chris Long for three years was special. I mean, he is about as good as they get at the defensive line position. He was one of my best friends on the team. He definitely influenced me a lot in how I want to play the game and in my work ethic. It’s good to be around a guy like that.

You are a certified scuba diver. Where did you get certified? Where have you dived?
Field:
One middle school summer when I was up in New Hampshire there was a dive shop on one of the lakes. I took a week of classes and got certified. I do a bit of diving here and there but not as much as I’d like to. After I graduate I’d like to get into it a lot more. I haven’t been anywhere exotic; they have a lot of lakes in New Hampshire and the water is pretty clear up there and you can see the rock bottom.
