RALEIGH, N.C. — The No. 14 Virginia women’s soccer team opens ACC play Thursday night as it visits NC State. Game time at the Dail Soccer Stadium on the NCSU campus is slated for 7 p.m.

The Cavaliers (5-1-2) enter the game riding a seven-game unbeaten streak after a 2-0 win over American on Sunday. Sinead Farrelly (Havertown, Pa.) and Meghan Lenczyk (McLean, Va.) scored for the Cavaliers against the Eagles and are among the five Virginia players averaging over a point per game this year. The Cavaliers and Boston College are the only teams nationally to have five players averaging over a point per game. Defensively, Chantel Jones (Midlothian, Va.) leads the Cavaliers with three shutouts and a 0.48 goals against average.

NC State (5-2-1) is coming off a 1-0 loss at Charlotte on Sunday.

The Cavaliers have won their last six ACC openers. Last year Virginia opened conference play with a 1-0 win at Florida State.

Following Thursday’s game the Cavaliers return home for their next three games. The homestand begins Sunday when Virginia hosts Clemson at 2 p.m.
