Charlottesville, VA – The Virginia women’s golf teams plays its second tournament of the fall this weekend at the Mason Rudolph Championships at the Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tenn. Play for the 17-team tournament begins Friday at 8 a.m. The 54-hole format includes 18 holes daily through Sunday on the par-72, 6,217-yard North Course.

Virginia’s lineup will include senior Whitney Neuhauser, junior Calle Nielson, freshman Brittany Altomare, freshman Nicole Agnello and sophomore Eleana Collins. The tournament will be a homecoming for Nielson who grew up in Nashville. Last season she placed sixth at the NCAA Championships.

The field will feature 12 teams ranked in the latest Golfworld/NGCA poll, including the number one, two, three, and four ranked teams in the country and eight out of the top 10 teams in the poll. The teams included in this year’s field include Alabama (No. 7), Arizona (No. 17), Arizona State (No. 1), Auburn (No. 8), Duke (No. 10), Florida (No. 29), Georgia (No. 14), LSU (No. 11), Oklahoma State (No. 4), South Carolina (No. 47), Stanford (No. 22), Texas (No. 26), Tulane (No. 31), UCLA (No. 3), USC (No. 2), and Virginia (No. 9). 



UCLA won last year’s women’s team crown with a score of 14-under par, 850 (287-277-286), which set a new Mason Rudolph Women’s Championship record, and the Bruins’ Sydnee Michaels won medalist honors with an 11-under, 205 (68-70-67).
