CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Tickets for the 2009 Atlantic Coast Conference Field Hockey Championship, hosted by Virginia, go on sale Monday through the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office. The tournament takes place Nov. 5-8 at UVa’s Turf Field.

All-session tickets (five games total) are available for $10 for adults and $5 for students, children and senior citizens. Single-session tickets, which include two games on Thursday and Friday, are also available for $5 for adults and $3 for students, children and senior citizens. Students from participating schools who show university identification will get the discounted rate.

The ACC is considered the premier conference in field hockey with a conference team competing in finals of the NCAA Championship every season since 1999. ACC teams have claimed the national title in each of last seven years.

In the latest Kookaburra/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Coaches Poll, all six ACC teams are ranked in the top 15, including No. 1 Maryland, No. 2 North Carolina, No. 3 Virginia, No. 4 Wake Forest, No. 10 Boston College and No. 13 Duke.

Tickets for the 2009 ACC Championship can be purchased online at VirginiaSports.com or by calling the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office at 1-800-542-8821 or 434/924-8821. Fans can also order in person at the athletics ticket office in Bryant Hall at Scott Stadium weekdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
