CHARLOTTESVILLE — The Virginia women’s soccer team continues a four-match road trip Thursday night when it visits Duke in a key ACC matchup. Both teams are competing for a spot in next month’s ACC Tournament with just four regular season games remaining. Kickoff at Koskinen Stadium in Durham is slated for 7 p.m.

The Cavaliers (6-5-3, 1-4-1 ACC) are looking to snap a four-game winless streak. All five of Virginia’s losses this year have been by one goal, including three where the game-winning goal was scored in the 88th minute or later. On Saturday, Virginia lost 2-1 at No. 2 North Carolina on a penalty kick in the 89th minute.

The Blue Devils (6-5-4, 2-2-2 ACC) are coming off a 2-0 win at Clemson on Sunday. Duke has posted shutouts in its last three games.

Virginia holds 15-11-6 edge in the series, including a 6-3-3 mark in Durham. Last year the teams met twice in Charlottesville. The regular season meeting was a 0-0 tie, while the Blue Devils won a round of 16 NCAA Tournament game 2-0 over the Cavaliers at Klöckner Stadium. The last meeting in Durham was in 2007, a 2-0 Cavalier victory.

The Cavaliers close out the road trip on Sunday when they visit No. 5 Wake Forest. Virginia closes out the regular season next week when it hosts No. 7 Florida State on Friday and Miami on Sunday.
