CHARLOTTESVILLE – Three members of the Virginia women’s soccer team were named to the 2009 All-ACC Academic Women’s Soccer Team, announced Wednesday by the conference. Junior midfielder Colleen Flanagan (Downingtown, Pa.), junior forward Meghan Lenczyk (McLean, Va.) and freshman defender Morgan Stith (Montclair, N.J.) were honored for their work in the classroom and on the field.

Flanagan, a sociology major, started all 22 games this season and recorded one assist. Lenczyk, a psychology major, started all 22 games this season and had seven goals and three assists. Her 17 points ranked fourth on the team. Stith started all 22 games of her rookie season and led all Virginia field players with 2,003 minutes played. She was named to the ACC All-Freshman Team.

Each of the three players were named to the All-ACC Academic Team for the first time in their career.

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career.
