Cavaliers in Third Place at LSU Tiger/Wave Classic

New Orleans, LA – The No. 18 Virginia women’s golf team is in third place following the first round of play at the 23-team LSU Tiger/Wave Golf Classic at English Turn Country Club in New Orleans. Virginia shot 8-over 296 and trails second-place LSU by two shots and tournament leader Alabama by three strokes.
The Cavaliers were led by Calle Nielson and Eleana Collins, who both finished at 1-over 73. They are tied for 11th overall, three shots behind the tournament leaders. Collins score was her best single-round as a collegiate.
Whitney Neuhauser carded a 74 and is in 16th place. Brittany Altomare and Nicolle Agnello both shot 76 are tied for 34th. Lauren Greenlief, playing as an individual, shot 81 and is in 91st place.
The tournament field includes 23 teams that are currently ranked in Golfstat’s top-50.
The second round will take place Saturday with UVa set to start at 8 a.m. CT. Live scoring is online at Golfstat.com.
