CHARLOTTESVILLE — The Virginia women’s soccer team concludes its preseason exhibition schedule Sunday night as it hosts James Madison. Game time at Klöckner Stadium is set for 7 p.m.

The exhibition will use an extended format designed to allow both teams get additional minutes for players on their rosters. They will play a 45-minute period, followed by two 30-minute periods.

The Cavaliers, ranked No. 17 in the preseason NSCAA rankings, are coming off a 4-1 win over No. 4 Notre Dame in an exhibition Friday in Maple City, Mich., at the end of Virginia’s preseason training camp there. Meghan Lenczyk (McLean, Va.) and Lauren Alwine (Elizabethtown, Pa.) each had a goal and an assist in the game, while Emily Perrin (Charlottesville, Va.) and Colleen Flanagan (Downingtown, Pa.) also scored for the Cavaliers.

James Madison will be playing its only preseason game of the year against the Cavaliers. The Dukes were selected the preseason favorite in the Colonial Athletic Association in the poll of the league’s coaches.

Tickets for Sunday’s exhibition game are $4 for adults and $2 for youth/seniors. Reserved seats for the game are available for $6.

The Cavaliers open the 2010 regular season on Friday, August 20 when they host in-state for Liberty. Game time is set for 7 p.m. at Klöckner Stadium. Prior to the game, the reigning National Champion UVa men’s soccer team will host VCU in its preseason opener, beginning at 4 p.m.
