Sinead Farrelly Named Soccer America Preseason All-American

CHARLOTTESVILLE – Virginia senior midfielder Sinead Farrelly (Havertown, Pa.) was named a Soccer America Preseason All-American, the magazine announced Thursday. Farrelly was one of 25 players honored by the publication.

Last week, Farrelly was named to the Preseason Hermann Trophy Watch List. In 2009, she led the Cavaliers in scoring with eight goals and eight assists and earned second-team All-American honors.

Virginia, ranked No. 7 in the preseason Soccer America rankings, opens the regular season on Friday when it hosts Liberty at Klöckner Stadium at 7 p.m.
