CHARLOTTESVILLE – Virginia senior forward Meghan Lenczyk (McLean, Va.) was named the ACC Player of the Week, conference officials announced Tuesday. Lenczyk recorded four goals and an assist in the Cavaliers’ wins over Liberty and Colgate last week.

In the 4-0 win over Liberty in Friday’s season opener, Lenczyk had two goals and an assist. She followed that with another two-goal performance in the Cavaliers’ 6-0 win over Colgate on Sunday. She became the first Cavalier to have consecutive multi-goal games since Angela Hucles in 1997.

The honor is the second of Lenczyk’s career. She was also named ACC Player of the Week on Sept. 30, 2008.

On Monday, she was also named the TopDrawerSoccer.com National Player of the Week for her performance last week.

The Cavaliers (2-0) open the road portion of their schedule next week as they play in the Penn State Invitational. Virginia meets the host Nittany Lions on Friday night and Connecticut on Sunday afternoon.
