Richmond Tailgate Tip of the Game
Location: Shamrock Road
- 15 bratwurst sausages
- 15 potato bread hot dog buns
- 2 tbsp. horseradish mustard
- 2 medium onions, sliced
- 2 tbsp. sugar
- 12 oz. beer
- 12 oz. water
- hot sauce to taste
- 1 tbsp. vegetable oil
- In 6-qt. pot, caramelize onions in oil, sugar, and mustard.
- Add bratwursts, beer, hot sauce and water to pot, bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
- Remove brats, cook onions until liquid is reduced (drain excess liquid if necessary). Set onions aside.
- Grill brats until brown.
- Serve brats in bun, top with the onions.
