CHARLOTTESVILLE – Virginia senior midfielder Sinead Farrelly (Havertown, Pa.) was named the ACC Player of the Week, conference officials announced Tuesday. Farrelly had three goals in the Cavaliers’ wins over Texas and Boston University last week.

In the 4-0 win over Texas on Friday, Farrelly scored the game-winning goal. She followed that with a two-goal performance in the Cavaliers’ 3-0 win over Boston University on Sunday. She was named MVP of the Virginia Nike Soccer Classic, as the Cavaliers took the tournament title.

The honor is the second of Farrelly’s career. She was also named ACC Player of the Week on November 3, 2009. It is the second award this season for a Cavalier, as Meghan Lenczyk (McLean, Va.) was honored the opening week of the season.

In addition to being named ACC Player of the Week, Farrelly was also named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Team of the Week and was a CollegeSoccer360.com Primetime Performer of the Week.

The Cavaliers (6-0-1) conclude their non-conference schedule on Sunday as they visit West Virginia. Game time in Morgantown is set for 1 p.m.
