CHICAGO — Two former members of the Virginia women’s soccer program were called into the United States Women’s National Team’s camp leading into a pair of friendlies next month. Midfielders Sarah Huffman (Class of 2006) and Lori Lindsey (Class of 2002) were among the 30 players named to the camp, that begins Sept. 20 in Kennesaw, Ga.

The 30 players called into camp will make up the roster for a pair of friendlies agaimst China next month (Oct. 2 in Kennesaw, Ga.; Oct. 6 in Chester, Pa.). Those are the final two matches for the team before World Cup Qualifying. Following the games, head coach Pia Sundhage will name a 20-player roster for the 2010 CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying tournament, to be held Oct. 28-Nov. 9 in Cancun and Playa del Carmen, Mexico.

Lindsey, who plays professionally for the Philadelphia Independence, has appeared in all nine of the USWNT’s games in 2010, starting five and leading the team with five assists. Huffman, who plays professionally for the Washington Freedom, made her USWNT debut in a July friendly against Sweden in Omaha, Neb.
