Sauerbrunn and Lindsey Named to US World Cup Qualifying Roster

CHICAGO — Two former Cavaliers were among the 20 players selected to represent the United States at the 2010 CONCACAF Women’s World Cup Qualifying tournament, being held in Cancun, Mexico, from Oct. 28-Nov. 8. Defender Becky Sauerbrunn (Class of 2007) and midfielder Lori Lindsey (Class of 2002) will look to help the US Women’s National Team qualify for next year’s World Cup.

Lindsey, who plays professionally for the Philadelphia Independence, has made 11 career appearances for the USWNT. She has appeared in 10 of the team’s 11 games this season, starting five and leading the team in assists this year with five.

Sauerbrunn, who plays professionally for the Washington Freedom, has made two career appearance for the USWNT.
