Sammy Zeglinski Expected To Be Out Approximately Eight Weeks
CHARLOTTESVILLE-Virginia red-shirt junior guard Sammy Zeglinski (Philadelphia, Pa./The William Penn Charter School) is expected to be out approximately eight weeks after an operation involving cartilage work on his left knee Tuesday (Oct. 19).
The 6-1 Zeglinski has led the Cavaliers in three-point field goals made, assists and steals each of the last two seasons. Last season he played in all 31 of the Cavaliers’ games, starting 29, and averaged 8.9 points and 3.8 rebounds a game. Zeglinski led the team with 61 three-point field goals made, 80 assists and 38 steals. He has started 44 games the last two seasons.
Zeglinski missed 25 games during the 2007-08 season, including the last 24 games, with an ankle injury. A medical hardship waiver request was approved for Zeglinski in the summer of 2008.
