NORFOLK, Va. – The Virginia women’s tennis team had three doubles teams advance to the semifinals of the ITA Atlantic Regional during day four of play at Old Dominion University. The Cavaliers will look for their first regional doubles title as play concludes on Monday.

The top-seeded duo of Emily Fraser and Hana Tomljanovic cruised past Hope Johnson and Jeltje Loomans of William & Mary to reach the semifinals. They will meet teammates Maria Fuccillo and Rashmi Teltumbde in the semifinals. Ninth-seeded Fuccillo and Teltumbde upset fifth-seeded Yasmin Hamza and Holly Johnson of Virginia Tech 8-4 to advance. The No. 2 seed, Lindsey Hardenbergh and Erin Vierra, reached the semifinals with an 8-3 win over Anik Cepeda and Katie Kargl. They meet Michaela Kissel and Dominika Zaprazna of Marshall in the other semifinal.

The Cavaliers had four players in the singles quarterfinals on Sunday, but all fell in that round. Tomljanovic fell to top-seeded Kissel 1-6, 6-4, 7-6(6), while Hardenbergh, Vierra and Fraser also suffered defeats.

Play concludes on Monday with the singles final and the semifinals and final of doubles.
