CHARLOTTESVILLE — Over a dozen current and former Cavalier tennis players will be competing this week at the Virginia National Bank Men’s Tennis Championships, which run Oct. 30-Nov. 7 at the Boar’s Head Sports Club. The event is a stop on the ATP Challenger Tour.

Two-time NCAA Singles Champion Somdev Devvarman, currently ranked No. 94 in the world, headlines a field that also includes Americans Taylor Dent, Donald Young, Ryan Sweeting and defending champion Kevin Kim. Former Cavaliers Treat Huey and Teddy Angelinos are also competing in the main draw.

Almost every member of the current Virginia team is competing in the event, with Alex Domijan (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) and Jarmere Jenkins (College Park, Ga.) receiving main draw wild cards. Nine other Cavaliers are competing in the qualifying draw.

Qualifying play is Saturday and Sunday at the Boar’s Head Sports Club with main draw competition beginning on Monday. Tickets for the tournament are $10 daily for Boar’s Head Sports Club members and $15 daily for non-members.
