Sanam Singh to Compete at Chennai Open
CHARLOTTESVILLE — Virginia senior tennis player Sanam Singh (Chandigarh, India) has received singles and doubles wild cards to the Aircel Chennai Open, which will be held January 3-9 at the SDAT Tennis Stadium. It is the second consecutive year that Singh has competed at the ATP Tour 250 level event.
Last year Singh teamed with Virginia alumnus Somdev Devvarman in doubles and reached the semifinals of the Chennai Open. Last month, the duo teamed to the win the gold medal at the Asian Games. Singh also competed in the singles qualifying draw at last year’s tournament.
