CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia long snapper Danny Aiken has been selected to play for the South in the 2011 Under Armour Senior Bowl. The 2011 game is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Saturday, January 29th in Mobile’s Ladd-Peebles Stadium. NFL Network will televise the game and all practices live.

Aiken (Roanoke, Va.) appeared in all 12 games in 2010 and is a four-year starter as the program’s long snapper. He made four tackles on the year, including stops at USC, vs. Florida State, vs. No. 22 Miami and at Virginia Tech.

This is the third-straight season a Cavalier will represent UVa in the Under Armour Senior Bowl. In 2010 Chris Cook and Rashawn Jackson participated in the showcase, while Cedric Peerman, John Phillips and Clint Sintim appeared in the 2009 game.

“This is an outstanding group of special teams players and we really feel good about bringing them to Mobile to showcase their skills,” Senior Bowl President and CEO Steve Hale said.
