BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Virginia track and field team swept the distance medley relays on the final day of the VT Elite Meet Saturday afternoon at Virginia Tech’s Rector Field House.

The Cavaliers’ men’s squad of sophomore Brett Johnson, junior Kevin Anding, freshman Anthony Kostelac and junior Patrick Todd combined for a season-best time of 9:36.41, while the women’s team of sophomore Rosemary Barber, junior Jenni Weatherly, senior Lyndsay Harper and freshman Ariel Karabinus completed the race in 11:49.70.

In the 5000m, junior Robbie Eckardt earned a runner-up finish and a time of 14:49.22, while junior Andrew Revelle followed him across the line in 14:51.08.

Senior Marcus Robinson also earned a second-place finish with a leap of 51′ 6.25 in the triple jump.

In the 400m, junior Kristina Chapman finished third with a time of 56.45.

The Cavaliers will return to action next weekend, as they split up to either head to Washington’s Husky Classic or to the Armory in New York City.
