CHARLOTTESVILLE – The top-ranked Virginia men’s tennis team concludes the regular season this weekend as it hosts a pair of ACC rivals. The Cavaliers will play No. 62 Clemson on Friday at 3 p.m. and No. 15 Georgia Tech on Saturday at 2 p.m. Both matches are scheduled to be played at the Snyder Tennis Center.
Friday’s match will feature senior day ceremonies. Michael Shabaz (Fairfax, Va.) and Sanam Singh (Chandigarh, India) will be honored in between doubles and singles play. On Saturday, there will be the UVa bounce house and face painting for kids.
The Cavaliers (24-0, 9-0 ACC) enter the final weekend of the regular season looking to build on their school-record 85-match home winning streak and their conference-record 72-match ACC winning streak. A win over Clemson would clinch at least a share of Virginia’s eighth consecutive ACC regular season title.
Clemson (15-9, 2-7 ACC) enters the weekend coming off a pair of home losses last week to North Carolina and Duke. Georgia Tech (16-3, 7-2 ACC) has won six of its last seven matches, with a home loss to Duke last week being the only setback during that stretch.
Admission is free to all Virginia tennis matches. For outdoor matches at the Snyder Tennis Center, free parking for fans is available at the Culbreth Garage.
