CHARLOTTESVILLE – Sarah Imovbioh, who signed a National Letter of Intent to play women’s basketball at Virginia beginning in the fall of 2011, has been selected to the Parade Magazine All-America High School Girls Basketball Team, the publication announced.

Imovbioh, a native of Lagos, Nigeria, is a 6-2 forward out of St. Anne’s-Belfield High School in Charlottesville, Va.

Virginia was one of just two schools from the Atlantic Coast Conference with signees on the prestigious list.

Parade Magazine had this to say of Imovbioh: “Originally from Nigeria, the 6-foot-2 Imovbioh might be the surprise of the finalists, but her numbers don’t lie. She is a rebounding machine and hovered around 30 points per game this season.”

Imovbioh, ranked No. 15 in the country at her position by HoopGurlz.com, scored 31 points and grabbed 25 rebounds in her final high school game in the VIS Division II state championship game.

During her senior season, Imovbioh averaged 29.0 points and 22.6 rebounds per game.
