CHARLOTTESVILLE – VirginiaSportsTV.com, the online home of video for the Virginia athletics department, has been re-launched with a new interface and features that make it easier for Cavalier fans to watch on-demand video featuring UVa athletics.

The new design includes a state-of-the-art video player with the ability to view videos full-screen, better integration with mobile devices including the iPhone and iPad, a new navigation system with a page dedicated to each Cavalier sports team and a search function that allows users to easily find specific videos.

Since its launch on Sept. 3, 2004, more than 3,500 videos have been posted to VirginiaSportsTV.com and the site has drawn more than 4.8 million views.

“Over the last seven years, we have worked hard to create a comprehensive, video-based website that we feel is unique in intercollegiate athletics,” said Todd Goodale, associate athletics director for marketing and video services. “These upgrades will significantly improve the viewing experience for our fans while maintaining the clean, image-rich design for which the site is known. Game highlights, features, and behind-the-scenes footage will continue to be posted to the site.

“With the re-design, we’re also excited for fans to rediscover some of their favorite highlights from years past, as all video from the original site has been archived on the new site and is now available to view in full screen.”

Fans may visit VirginiaSportsTV.com for postgame highlights and reactions, full episodes of Cavalier Sports Weekly, features, special programming, and more – always free and on-demand.
