McCarthy and Collins Eliminated at U.S. Amateur

Erin, WI – Virginia freshman Denny McCarthy (Rockville, Md.) and recent UVa graduate Will Collins (Salisbury, N.C.) were eliminated during the opening round of match play at the 2011 U.S. Amateur Championships taking place in Erin, Wisc.

McCarthy lost 3 and 2 to Tim Madigan of Rio Rancho, N.M., while Collins was eliminated 6 and 5 by Wake Forest’s Lee Bedford.
