CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia baseball program will hold a special ring ceremony at 6 p.m. Friday to celebrate the 2011 Cavalier team, which won a school-record 56 games as it captured the ACC Championship and advanced to the College World Series for the second time in program history. The ceremony will precede Game 3 of the Orange and Blue World Series.

Most of the members of the 2011 team, including several of the players who graduated or were drafted, will be back in Charlottesville and on hand to receive their ACC Championship and College World Series rings. During the celebration there will be video highlights of the Cavaliers’ 2011 special season and their run to the CWS.

Game 3 will start approximately 10 minutes following the conclusion of the ring ceremony.

Admission to all Orange and Blue World Series games is free. Fans should enter on the first baseline side of the stadium via Lannigan Way. Free parking will be available in the University Hall lot. Parking will not be available in the John Paul Jones Arena lots Friday because of an event at JPJ.

The first 100 fans in attendance will receive free koozies and 2011 Virginia Baseball t-shirts. There also will be giveaways throughout the evening.

The Cavalier Team Shop will have a merchandise blowout at the game with ACC Championship and College World Series apparel. Concession stands also will be open.
