CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.-The men’s and women’s cross country teams swept the Panorama Farms Invitational Friday afternoon. The No. 16 Cavalier women completed the meet with 27 points, 28 ahead of second place UNC Greensboro, while the men finished with 39 points, 20 ahead of ACC rival Duke.

Paul Chelimo of UNC Greensboro won the men’s individual title in an 8K time of 23:36.05, the second-fastest time in Panorama Farms history. UNCG’s Ashley Schnell took home the women’s crown in a 6K time of 21:03.42.

The UVa men’s team ran together through the first few kilometers before senior Mark Amirault (Walpole, Mass.) and sophomore Chris Foley (Chantilly, Va.) broke away and finished second and third in 24:18.03 and 24:23.34, respectively.

Sophomore Drew Paisley (Virginia Beach, Va.) crossed the line in ninth overall in 24:56.04, while junior Robby Andrews (Englishtown, N.J.) placed 11th in 25:06.79. Sophomore David Cotton (Madison, Conn.) finished 14th overall to round out the scoring five.

In the women’s race, junior Barbara Strehler (Richmond, Va.) and sophomore Chelsea Ley (Woolwich Township, N.J.) finished back-to-back in third and fourth overall. Strehler finished in 21:17.10, while Ley was right behind in 21:17.89.

Senior Anna Corrigan (Burke, Va.) finished sixth in 21:24.20 after losing one of her shoes during the race. Fellow senior Chelsea France (Dublin, Ohio) placed eighth in 21:35.62, while sophomore Katherine Walker (Stafford, Va.) finished 11th in 21:47.20 to complete the UVa scoring five.

The Cavaliers return to action on Saturday, Oct. 29 for the ACC Championships in Clemson, S.C.
