Virginia Women's Basketball Holds Media Day
CHARLOTTESVILLE – Virginia head coach Joanne Boyle and the 2011-12 women’s basketball team met with members of the media on Monday (Oct. 17) as part of Media Day.
Boyle started the day by addressing members of the media in the press room of John Paul Jones Arena. Following a 30-minute press conference, players and coaches spoke with print and electronic media in the women’s practice facility at JPJA.
The Cavaliers return 10 letterwinners and four starters from last year’s squad which finished with an overall record of 19-16 and advanced to the quarterfinals of the Women’s National Invitation Tournament (WNIT).
The Joanne Boyle era officially begins on Friday, Nov. 11, when the Cavaliers host Appalachian State (7 p.m.) in their season-opener. Prior to the contest, UVa hosts an exhibition game on Saturday, Nov. 5, against Alaska Anchorage (7 p.m.)
