CHARLOTTESVILLE – The No. 6 Virginia women’s soccer team continues a three-game homestand on Thursday as it hosts in-state rival Virginia Tech. Game time at Klöckner Stadium is 7 p.m., and the game will be televised nationally on FOX Soccer.

Cavalier alumnae and 2011 United States Women’s World Cup Team members Lori Lindsey and Becky Sauerbrunn will be in attendance. They will be recognized at halftime in addition to taking part in a pregame autograph session for fans beginning at 6:15 p.m.

Virginia (11-3-2, 5-2-1 ACC) enters the game on a three-game win streak, with victories over Florida State, NC State and Clemson. The Cavaliers clinched a spot in the ACC Tournament with the win over the Tigers on Sunday. Chantel Jones (Midlothian, Va.) has posted shutouts in each of the past two games and now has 41 career shutouts, three shy of the NCAA record.

The Hokies (11-4-1, 3-3-1 ACC) also enter the game on a three-game win streak, as they have rebounded from a 0-3-1 start to even their conference record. Virginia Tech is coming off a 1-0 win at NC State on Sunday.

Virginia leads the all-time series 13-2-1, including an 8-1-0 mark in Charlottesville. The teams have split the last five meetings, 2-2-1. Last season, the Cavaliers downed the Hokies 3-0 in Blacksburg.

Virginia will conclude the regular season on Oct. 27 when it hosts Miami. Game time at Klöckner Stadium is 7 p.m.
