TALLAHASSEE, Fla.-The Virginia volleyball team was defeated by No. 19 Florida State, 25-18, 25-20, 25-14, Sunday afternoon at Tully Gym.

The Cavaliers fell to 8-15 on the season and 2-11 in ACC action with the loss. Florida State improved to 19-4 overall and 13-0 in conference play.

Junior Tobi Farrar (Arlington, Texas) hit .400 and earned nine kills to lead the Cavaliers.

Up 13-10 in the first set, Florida State used a run of 7-0 on its way to a 25-18 win. The Seminoles hit .424.

In the second set, the ‘Hoos hit .297, but FSU only committed three errors en route to a 25-20 triumph.

In the third, Florida State used an 8-1 run and held the Cavaliers to a -0.031 hitting percentage in the frame and won 25-14.

Visnja Djurdjevic hit .529 with 11 kills and Jekaterina Stepanova hit .409 with 12 kills to lead the Seminoles.

The Cavaliers continue their four-match road trip with contests at Duke (Nov. 4) and Wake Forest (Nov. 5) next weekend.
