FLUSHING MEADOWS, N.Y. – Virginia first-year Mitchell Frank (Annandale, Va.), the top seed at the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships, reached the singles semifinals with a pair of wins on Friday.

In the round of 16, Frank downed Alex Musialek of Kentucky 6-4, 1-6, 6-0. He followed that victory with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Costin Paval of Oklahoma in the quarterfinals.

He will continue play on Saturday in the semifinals as he plays either fifth-seeded Henrique Cunha of Duke or Evan King of Michigan.
