DURHAM, N.C.-Three Cavaliers earned double-digit kills, but the Virginia volleyball team fell at ACC rival Duke, 19-25, 25-19, 25-17, 25-9, Friday evening.

With the loss, the Wahoos fell to 8-16 on the season and 2-12 in ACC action, while the Blue Devils improved to 16-7 and 10-4 in conference play.

With 11 kills tonight, senior Simone Asque (Chicago, Ill.) moved into seventh place all-time at UVa with 1,353 career kills.

Freshman Tori Janowski (Sterling, Va.) earned a double-double with 12 kills and 10 digs, while sophomore Rachel Clark (Los Angeles, Calif.) tallied 11 kills.

In the first set, the ‘Hoos held the Blue Devils to a .064 hitting percentage and took advantage of 10 Duke errors to win, 25-19, but the Cavs were unable to hit over .100 in any of the next three sets as the Blue Devils prevailed.

Sophia Dunworth earned 15 kills to lead Duke.

The Cavaliers return to action Saturday when they play at Wake Forest at 5 p.m.
