CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.-The Virginia rowing squad concludes its 2011 fall season when it hosts the Rivanna Romp on Sunday (Nov. 13) at the Rivanna Reservoir. The ‘Hoos will compete against Clemson, Pennsylvania and Old Dominion.

The Varsity Eights and the Novice Eights will begin at 9 a.m., while the varsity fours and doubles will start at 10:30 a.m. Boats will go off one at a time, about 10-15 seconds apart, in a time trial to determine the winners.

Free parking is available at the Thomas Temple Allan Boathouse on the west bank of the Rivanna Reservoir. The boathouse is the closest spectators can see the boats along the 4,000-meter course.

Virginia will look to continue its winning ways, with the Varsity Eights winning both the Head of the Charles and the Princeton Chase regattas.

Last year at the Romp, the ‘Hoos won the varsity eights, fours and doubles races.

The spring season begins on March 10, with a scrimmage against Michigan State in Marion, Va.
