GREENSBORO, N.C.-Virginia track and field seniors Morgane Gay (Bethesda, Md.) and Marcus Robinson (Richmond, Va.) have been honored by the ACC as the Women’s and Co-Men’s Performers of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.

Robinson set the best NCAA mark of the season and broke the ACC indoor and school record in the triple jump at the Tyson Invitational. His mark of 16.63m (54’6.75″) surpassed his previous school record mark by 13 inches (0.33m). He is currently ranked ninth on the IAAF World Rankings. This is his second ACC Performer of the Week honor this year.

Gay placed seventh in the mile at the Flotrack Husky Classic in an NCAA automatic-qualifying time of 4:34.38. Her time ranks first in the ACC and fifth in the NCAA this season and was sixth one-hundredths of a second off the Virginia school record.

Robinson shared the men’s award with NC State’s Ryan Hill. Hill broke the American-born collegiate and ACC record in the 3,000 meters with an NCAA-leading time of 7:43.08.
