Charlottesville, VA – The Virginia football team will hold an open practice from 1-3 p.m. at Fairfax High School in Fairfax, Va. on Saturday, March 24.

The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a free Virginia football t-shirt. Promotional tables will be setup at the stadium entrances and each fan will receive a roster/autograph card and have an opportunity to enter to win raffle prizes. Prizes include: a pair of season tickets, tickets for UVa individual home games, and a Cavalier helmet and football signed by head coach Mike London.

Activities for youth, including a face-painter and balloon artist, will be set-up inside the stadium’s main gate. Following the practice, there will be a 30-minute autograph session in these areas. The event will conclude at approximately 3:30 p.m. Chick-fil-A and Domino’s Pizza will be the concessions options available for sale.

There will be a food drive to benefit the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) in conjunction with the practice. The AFAC is in need of cereal and other breakfast items, pasta, and peanut butter at this time.

Fairfax High School is located at 3501 Rebel Run (the zip code is 22030). Parking at Fairfax High School is free and fans are encouraged to use the two entry points off of Old Lee Highway to access the parking areas.

The 2012 Virginia football team began its spring practice period on Monday. The Cavaliers will also hold an open practice at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Va. on Friday, March 30 at 7 p.m. On Saturday, April 7, UVa will practice at Sports Backers Stadium in Richmond starting at 3 p.m. The annual Orange-Blue Spring Scrimmage is Saturday, April 14 at Scott Stadium. The gates at Scott Stadium open at noon and the scrimmage will begin at 2 p.m.
