AUSTIN, Texas – The No. 7 Virginia women’s soccer team concludes its first road trip of the season on Sunday with a match-up against SMU on the final day of the Time Warner Cable Texas Invitational. Game time at Mike A. Myers Stadium on the campus of the University of Texas is 11 a.m. CT (noon ET).

Virginia (4-1) opened the tournament with a 3-0 victory over the host Longhorns on Friday night. Molly Menchel (Alexandria, Va.), Makenzy Doniak (Chino Hills, Calif.) and Caroline Miller(Rockville, Md.) scored for the Cavaliers, who posted their fourth consecutive shutout.

In Friday’s first game in Austin, SMU (2-2) suffered a 4-1 loss to New Mexico. The Mustangs had wins over Oral Roberts and Arkansas last week.

Virginia leads the all-time series against SMU 3-1-0, but the teams have not met since the 1992 season. The Cavaliers won meetings in 1989, 1990 and 1991 before the Mustangs won the last matchup in 1992.

The Cavaliers return home next weekend to conclude the non-conference schedule by hosting the Virginia Nike Soccer Classic. Friday’s action begins at 2 p.m. with James Madison playing Richmond. Virginia plays George Mason at 5 p.m. in the second game of the day. A soccer tripleheader at Klöckner Stadium concludes with the Virginia men’s soccer team playing Duke at 7:30 p.m.
