CHARLOTTESVILLE – The No. 5 Virginia women’s soccer team opens the road portion of its ACC schedule on Sunday with a visit to Clemson. Game time at Historic Riggs Field is 1 p.m., and the game will be broadcast online by ESPN3.

The Cavaliers (8-1-1, 1-0-1 ACC) return to action for the first time in a week after a 2-2 draw with No. 6 North Carolina last Sunday. Virginia heads to Clemson riding a nine-game unbeaten streak (8-0-1), its longest streak since a 13-game unbeaten streak in 2007.

Clemson (5-3-2, 0-2 ACC) is looking to snap a four-game winless streak (0-2-2). The Tigers opened conference play last week with a pair of road losses, falling 5-1 at Boston College and 4-1 at Maryland.

Virginia leads the all-time series 11-10-1 and the teams have split the previous eight meetings at Historic Riggs Field (4-4-0). The Cavaliers have dominated the series in recent years, going undefeated (8-0-1) against Clemson since 2004. Virginia has won the last four meetings, including last year’s 3-0 victory over the Tigers in Charlottesville. The Cavaliers have won the last two meetings in Clemson by a combined 13-1 score.

The Cavaliers entered the week ranked 11th nationally in scoring at 2.90 goals per game. Caroline Miller (Rockville, Md.) and Makenzy Doniak(Chino Hills, Calif.) lead Virginia with seven goals each this season. Miller, the reigning NSCAA National Player of the Week, is tied for the conference lead with four goals in ACC play.

Virginia concludes its two-game road trip on Thursday as it visits No. 17 Maryland. Game time at Ludwig Field in College Park is 7 p.m.
