CHARLOTTESVILLE – The No. 3 Virginia women’s soccer team will play at home for the first tome in two weeks as it hosts No. 5 Duke on Sunday at Klöckner Stadium. Game time for the contest has been moved to 2 p.m., in order to allow the matchup to be televised by ESPNU.

The third-ranked Cavaliers (9-2-1, 2-1-1 ACC) are looking to rebound from a 3-1 loss at No. 10 Maryland on Thursday, which snapped Virginia’s 10-game unbeaten streak.

Fifth-ranked Duke (8-2-1, 2-1-1 ACC) is coming off a 3-0 home victory over Clemson on Thursday.

Sunday’s game will mark the first time since 1991 that two top-five teams will face each other in Charlottesville. The last time Virginia hosted a top-five showdown, the fourth-ranked Cavaliers downed No. 3 NC State 2-1 on Oct. 20, 1991.

Virginia leads the all-time series with Duke 17-11-7, including an 8-4-3 record in Charlottesville. The Cavaliers are 6-0-2 in regular season meetings with Duke over the past eight years, but the Blue Devils have won both postseason meetings during that span. Last year the teams played a scoreless draw in Durham.

The Cavaliers conclude their two-game homestand on Friday as they host No. 13 Wake Forest. Game time is 7 p.m., and the game will be broadcast online by the ACC Digital Network, available on YouTube.
