ATHENS, Ga. – The Virginia women’s tennis team concluded play Sunday at the Bulldog Classic at the Dan Magill Tennis Center with final round of singles. The Cavaliers played five matches against host Georgia, winning three of them.

Stephanie Nauta (Galveston, Texas) won the singles title at the tournament as she posted her second top-50 win of the weekend. The Cavalier first-year rallied from down 5-2 in the first set for a 7-6(7), 6-3 win over No. 37 Maho Kowase.

Maria Fuccillo (Rockville, Md.) and Erin Vierra (Norwell, Mass.) also posted singles wins on Sunday. Fuccillo downed Makenzy Craft 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 and Vierra topped Lilly Kimbell 7-6(4), 6-2. At the event the Cavaliers went 11-2 in singles as they played against Georgia and Indiana.

Virginia will be in action next week at the ITA Atlantic Regional, held this year in Blacksburg.
