“We just have to be good at something. Right now, we are not good at anything. Last year, we were great at the 1-2-2. We are just okay at everything. We are not getting it done. Obviously we turned the ball over way too much. We are shooting 30 percent, getting decent looks at the basket. We’ve got to be able to convert layups and have a confidence when shots aren’t falling in the two or three minutes of the game. We have to let that go and not let that become our whole game. I think that is what we are doing, missing the first couple of shots and then get beside ourselves and decide this is how it is going to be the whole game. It’s a fast game. You have to be able to let go of that stuff. We have to mature in that way. And we have to start taking care of the ball. We are averaging about 25 turnovers a game. That comes from one through five. Our posts are turning the ball over. Our guards are turning the ball over. We are just giving possessions away. Everything is a fight. We need to find a way to make the game a little easier for us.”

“We have to stop fouling. In the last two games, too many of our upperclassmen were sitting on the bench in foul trouble. We have got to stay out of foul trouble because part of that is you don’t get into a rhythm in a game. We are just disjointed out there. Sometimes we have bad combinations. You have too much youth out there and that hurts us. It is a game of a lot of layers. We need to clean up some of the layers.”

“We have been emphasizing so many things, and one has been rebounding, so it is nice to see that we came out and took it to heart to really rebound the ball. But then, the second piece to that is what are you going to do with it on the other end of the floor. That’s where we need growth.”
