CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia wrestling team will square off with Bucknell at 9 a.m. Friday in the first round of the Virginia Duals at the Hampton Coliseum in Hampton, Va. The Cavaliers are the No. 4 seed in the field, which was released this morning.
Virginia’s second-round opponent will be either fifth-seeded Boise State or Buffalo. That match will be contested at 1 p.m. Friday. The first two rounds of the tournament will be held Friday, with action concluding on Saturday.
The 16-team dual-meet tournament features five teams ranked in the latest USA Today/NWCA/AWN Division I Coaches Poll: Central Michigan (9), Virginia Tech (10), Edinboro (16), Virginia (18) and Old Dominion (25). Boise State is receiving votes in the poll; the Broncos are coming off an upset win over then-No. 10 Oregon State last week.
CMU is the top seed in the tournament, followed by Virginia Tech, Edinboro and Virginia.
