CARSON, Calif. – Virginia first-year forward Makenzy Doniak (Chino Hills, Calif.) is in California this week as she was one of 24 players invited to the Home Depot Center for the first training camp of the 2014 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup cycle.

Players born on or after Jan. 1, 1994 are eligible for the 2014 tournament. The United States is beginning preparation for the tournament with this week’s camp, which runs Feb. 2-9 in suburban Los Angeles.

Doniak was second on the Cavaliers with 10 goals, eight assists and 28 points during her rookie season. She was named to the Soccer America All-Freshman First Team and was an ACC All-Freshman Team selection. Doniak became the first player in school history to score a goal in each of the first five games of her career.
