Updated through 400 Medley Relay

We’re back at the pool for the timed finals of the 1,650 free and the tonight’s finals.

1,650 Free Timed Finals (6 heats)
UVa record: 15:53.49 (Cara Lane, 2003)
Season-best: 16:08.65 (Kelly Offutt)

Hoos Competing: Hanne Borgersen (heat 2), Rachel Naurath (heat 4) and Kelly Offutt (heat 5)

Borgesen finished second in heat two in 16:10.24, a drop of eight seconds off her time from the ACC Championships. That mark ranks eighth on UVa’s all-time list.

Naurath placed in a tie for sixth in heat four in 16:21.71. Offutt placed sixth in heat five in 16:11.91.

Borgersen finishes 17th overall, while Offutt was 20th and Naurath was 29th.

200 Back (Courtney Bartholomew in consolation final)

UVa record: 1:52.22 (Mei Christensen, 2009)
Season-best: 1:52.94 (Courtney Bartholomew)

Bartholomew takes second in the consolation final in 1:52.72, the second-fastest time in school history.

200 Fly (Alison Haulsee and Sarah White in consolation final)

Season-best: 1:55.91 (Alison Haulsee)

Haulsee places sixth in the consolation final in 1:56.58, while White was eighth in 1:58.04.

We’re ready for the final morning of prelims. The 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly and 400 free relay events will be contested in this session. This afternoon before the finals session, there will be the early heats of the 1,650 free timed finals. Those heats are scheduled to start at 4:35 p.m.

200 Back (7 heats)
UVa record: 1:52.22 (Mei Christensen, 2009)
Season-best: 1:53.03 (Courtney Bartholomew)

Hoos Competing: Courtney Bartholomew (heat five), Ellen Williamson (heat five), Caroline Kenney (heat seven)

Bartholomew finished third in heat five in 1:52.94, the third-fastest mark on UVa’s all-time list, while Williamson was sixth in 1:55.02. Kenney was eighth in heat seven in 1:57.03.

Tonight: Bartholomew will swim in the consolation final tonight after finishing ninth overall.

Williamson was 23rd overall, while Kenney was 43rd.

Sarah White won heat two in 1:56.54, the sixth-fastest time on UVa’s all-time list. Alison Haulsee was fourth in heat six in 1:56.40, while Casey was sixth in 1:57.42.

Tonight: Both Haulsee (14th) and White (t15th) will be in tonight’s consolation final. Casey placed 21st overall.

The foursome of Lauren Perdue, Rachel Naurath, Emily Lloyd and Emily Dicus was fourth in heat two in 3:16.56, the sixth-fastest mark in school history.

That time was 12th overall, so the 400 free relay will swim tonight in the consolation final.

Tonight, we’ll have Lauren Perdue (200 free) and Courtney Bartholomew (200 back) in consolation finals and the 800 free relay timed finals.

Lauren Perdue finished second in the 200 free consolation final in 1:44.41, to place 10th overall.

Courtney Bartholomew won the 100 back consolation final in a time of 51.63, just .05 off the program record, to finish ninth overall.

The foursome of Rachel Naurath, Lauren Perdue, Caroline Kenney and Ellen Williamson placed fourth in heat two in a time of 7:04.60 to finish 11th overall.

Back at pool for another day of NCAAs! This morning, we’ll have the prelims of the 200 medley relay, 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast and 100 back events.

Durmer drops a second and a half from her ACC time and finishes second in heat one in a time of 4:12.82, the sixth-best time on UVa’s all-time list. Casey placed seventh in heat five in a time of 4:15.52.

Durmer placed 24th overall, while Casey was 36th.

White finished sixth in the second heat in 54.08, while Williamson was fourth in 53.11. Williamson places 27th overall, while White was 45th.

In heat two, Kenney was second (1:47.54), while Borgersen (1:47.97) and Offutt (1:48.14) were third and fourth, respectively. Perdue finished third in heat six in 1:45.15, while Naurath was eighth in heat seven in 1:47.24.

Tonight: Perdue will swim in the consolation final after finishing 11th in the prelims.

Naurath was 38th overall, while Kenney was 40th, Borgersen was 43rd and Offutt was 46th.

Bartholomew qualified for the consolation final, finishing 10th overall in 52.28.

We’re back at the IU Natatorium for Thursday’s finals. Tonight, the Cavaliers have only the consolation final of the 200 free relay.

This morning the team of Lauren Perdue, Rachel Naurath, Emily Lloyd and Emily Dicus finished 13th in 1:29.88.

The same foursome finished 7th in the consolation final and 15th overall in a time of 1:30.67. That earns four points for the Cavaliers as we head into tomorrow’s action. We’ll be back then with updates of day two.

We’re live from the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis, Ind., and ready for the first day of the NCAA Championships. This morning we’ll have prelims for the 200 free relay, 500 free, 200 IM, 50 free and 400 medley relay.

200 Freestyle Relay (3 heats, UVa in heat 3)
UVa record: 1:29.12 (Christiensen, Wallace, Evo, Davis, 2009)
Season-best: 1:29.82

The foursome of senior Lauren Perdue, juniors Rachel Naurath and Emily Lloyd and sophomore Emily Dicus finished fourth in heat three in 1:29.88, the fifth-fastest time in school history. That was good enough for 13th and means the Cavaliers will swim in tonight’s consolation final.

500 Free (8 heats)
UVa record: 4:37.87 (Rachel Naurarth, 2012)
Season-best: 1:29.82

Hoos competing: Caroline Kenney (heat 2), Hanne Borgersen (heat 3), Alison Haulsee (heat 5), Rachel Naurath (heat 6), Kelly Offutt (heat 8)

Kenney finished second in heat two in 4:44.51, just off her career-best time of 4:44.27. Borgersen placed second in heat three in 4:43.43, a season-best time and the ninth-fastest mark on UVa’s all-time list.

Haulsee placed fourth in heat five in 4:43.69, while Naurath was sixth in a fast heat six in 4:42.36. Offutt was leading heat eight after 200 yards, but her cap fell off and finished eighth.

Naurath ended up 20th overall, while Borgersen and Haulsee were 24th and 27th overall.

Season-best: 1:57.00, Ellen Williamson

Bartholomew finished fifth in heat four in 1:59.30, while Durmer was fifth in heat five in 1:58.83. White and Casey finished seventh and eighth in heat six in 1:58.21 and 1:59.07, respectively. Williamson places sixth in heat seven in a time of 1:58.14.

Williamson and White finished 23rd and 24th overall, while Durmer was 31st.
