Complete Roster Release

CHARLOTTESVILLE – Virginia junior midfielder Morgan Brian (St. Simons Island, Ga.) received her third call-up to United States Women’s National Team as U.S. Soccer announced the roster for its upcoming camp Tuesday. Brian will be on the roster for the Oct. 20 friendly against Australia at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

Brian has made two appearances for the USWNT this year. She made her debut on June 15 against South Korea in Foxboro, Mass., and scored her first international goal during the 7-0 victory over Mexico on Sept. 3 in Washington, D.C.

Brian was one of two collegiate players named to the roster for the Oct. 20 game, along with Crystal Dunn of North Carolina. Both players will miss the Virginia-North Carolina game that afternoon in Chapel Hill. They will return to their collegiate teams following the Australia game and will not be on the USWNT roster for friendlies against New Zealand on Oct. 27 and Oct. 30.

“I’m grateful that we were able to work with Anson Dorrance at UNC and Steve Swanson at Virginia to enable Crystal and Morgan to come in for the match,” said USWNT head coach Tom Sermanni. “They are both talented young players and these kind of opportunities are extremely valuable for them. I know the colleges have a big game against each other and I really appreciate Anson and Steve’s continuing support of the U.S. National Team programs.”

For Virginia, Brian ranks second on the team and second in the ACC with 22 points on six goals and a league-high eight assists this season.

The top-ranked Cavaliers (11-0, 5-0 ACC) return to action Sunday as they host Clemson (6-2-3, 3-1-1 ACC). Game time at Klöckner Stadium is 2 p.m.
