CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.–The Virginia volleyball team travels to Blacksburg, Va., to face in-state rival Virginia Tech Wednesday (Oct. 23) at 7 p.m.

UVa (10-10, 3-5 ACC) dropped a pair of ACC matches last weekend (Oct. 18-19), falling to then-No. 13 North Carolina (3-0) and NC State (3-0). Freshman Haley Kole (Tallahassee, Fla.) has moved into 10th place on the all-time UVa freshman kills list with 270. Senior Emily Rottman (Santa Barbara, Calif.) currently has 1,572 career digs and is 31 digs away from moving into the top three in program history.

The Hokies (17-5, 5-3 ACC) split a pair of conference matches last weekend, sweeping NC State before falling to UNC, 3-2. VT has a balanced attack, with four players averaging 2.50 kills per set or higher. Victoria Hamsher leads the conference in hitting with a .414 percentage, while Lindsey Owens leads the ACC with 0.48 service aces per set.

UVa leads the all-time series, 30-28, but the Hokies have won the last seven meetings, including 3-0 on Nov. 23, 2012 in Blacksburg.

Up next, the Cavaliers host new ACC member Notre Dame on Sunday, Oct. 27 at 1 p.m. at Memorial Gymnasium.
