CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.—The Virginia volleyball team travels to NC State and No. 15 North Carolina this weekend (Nov. 15-16). The Cavaliers (15-11, 8-6 ACC) face the Wolfpack (19-7, 10-4 ACC) Friday at 7 p.m., before taking on the Tar Heels (22-3, 10-4) Saturday at 5 p.m.
Live statistics for the matches will be available and linked through VirginiaSports.com. NC State will have a free live video stream, while the match against UNC will also have live video (subscription based). Both video streams will be linked through VirginiaSports.com.
UVa earned a split last weekend (Nov. 8-9), falling to then-No. 18 Florida State, 3-1, before defeating Miami, 3-1. The Cavaliers have won five out of their last six ACC matches.
Freshman Haley Kole (Tallahassee, Fla.) is fifth place on the UVa freshman kills’ list with 365 for the season, while classmate Jasmine Burton (White Hills, Calif.), the reigning ACC Freshman of the Week, will crack the top 10 with her next kill. Burton has 295 kills on the year. Senior Emily Rottman (Santa Barbara, Calif.) is currently third on the all-time Cavalier digs’ list with 1,677. Sophomore Lauren Fuller (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) leads the ACC with 11.25 assists per set.
The Wolfpack defeated Clemson (3-0) and Georgia Tech (3-2) last weekend. Dariyan Hopper leads NC State with 3.41 kills per set.
UVa leads the all-time series, 36-23, but NC State won the first meeting this season, 3-0, on Nov. 16 at Memorial Gymnasium.
The Tar Heels also defeated Georgia Tech (3-0) and Clemson (3-1) last weekend. Paige Neuenfeldt is third in the ACC, hitting .360 to lead UNC.
North Carolina leads the all-time series, 40-14, and claimed the first meeting this season, 3-0, on Nov. 17 in Charlottesville.
Up next, the Cavaliers travel to Notre Dame on Nov. 22, before hosting Virginia Tech on Nov. 24 at 3 p.m.
