GREENSBORO, N.C.—Virginia volleyball freshman Haley Kole has been named Atlantic Coast Conference Freshman of the Week, the conference announced Monday (Nov. 25).

The Tallahassee, Fla., native earned her second weekly honor of the season after helping the Cavaliers defeat Notre Dame, 3-0, and Virginia Tech, 3-1, last weekend. Against the Irish, Kole hit .304 with 10 kills, while versus the Hokies, she added 11 kills and five blocks. The victory helped the Cavaliers sweep the season series against Virginia Tech for the first time since 2005.

Kole previously earned ACC Freshman of the Week honors on Sept. 9. This is the Cavaliers’ fifth weekly award of the season, with junior Tori Janowski (Sterling, Va.) taking home conference Player of the Week honors on Sept. 3 and freshman Jasmine Burton (White Hills, Calif.) earning ACC Freshman of the Week honors on Sept. 9 and Nov. 11.

The Cavaliers close out the regular season this weekend with home matches against Pittsburgh and Maryland (Nov. 29-30). Both matches are set for 7 p.m. starts.
